Description

To stay safe during extreme heat, the City of Hopewell will open a cooling station Monday through Sunday when temperatures reach 92°F or higher. The station will operate daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and water will be provided to patrons. This week only (June 23–27): The cooling station will be open at the Hopewell Community Center (100 W City Point Rd) from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, June 23, 2025, and Tuesday through Friday, June 27, the station will open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Starting Saturday, June 28 – Sunday, August 31: The station will move to the Old Bank of America Building (101 E City Point Rd) and will be open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., during days of extreme heat. Water will be provided for all patrons. Cooling Station Guidelines at the Community Center To ensure a safe and respectful environment, please follow these rules: •Patrons may use only the front lobby, including restrooms and the water fountain. •Access beyond the lobby is not permitted. •Use of other facility amenities (locker rooms, showers, sauna, pool, gym, or equipment) is strictly prohibited.
