Assist individuals with all aspects of Medicare:
  • Understand Medicare and your coverage options when you first become eligible
  • Navigate your choices during Medicare Open Enrollment
  • Get answers to questions about Medicare coverage, plans, and services
  • Resolve issues with claims, billing, and appeals
Service is part of the Volunteer Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program (VICAP) and the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP). Provide free, unbiased, and confidential help to ensure you get the counseling you need.

JABA offers information and a wide range of services that help older adults and individuals with disabilities remain active in the community. Services are available to those who can pay and to those who cannot. The inter-generational services include community centers in Charlottesville City and Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, and Nelson counties that offer a gathering place for weekday socializing and hot lunch for adults 60+. Additional services include Aging Services Coordination, Home Delivered Meals, Respite & Enrichment Centers, caregiver support, Insurance Counseling, Helpline, long-term care advocates, volunteer opportunities, and resources on home care, health services, affordable senior housing, assisted living, and more.
