GRTC provides open access public transit for the Greater Richmond region, providing service without charging a fare. Our services operate in the City of Richmond, Henrico County, Powhatan County, and parts of Chesterfield, Goochland, and Hanover Counties. We also provide express service to Petersburg.
Buses run from 5AM to 1AM daily, seven days a week. Our flagship Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line, the Pulse, provides fast and frequent service between Willow Lawn and Rockett’s Landing. Express Routes operate on weekdays to transport commuters to and from work quickly, while helping to minimize congestion. LINK Microtransit is on-demand public transportation providing curb-to-curb rides between any two places within set zones of operation.
Our free Travel Training services allow customers, 15 years of age or older, to learn skills that will enable them to follow a GRTC bus route. Travel training is a process of teaching individuals how to ride public transportation safely and independently. Travel Training Instructors create individualized travel plans to meet the customer’s transit goals and show them how to use fixed-route transportation to increase transit options.
