Eligibility
-Applicants must have an active Virginia Natural Gas account.
-Applicants must have a past due bill, a payment plan installment, or be disconnected to qualify.
-Applicants can receive VNG assistance of up to $500 per calendar year (max 2 visits).
-Applicants with delinquencies exceeding our $500 cap may be asked to copay the overage before we pledge our portion.
-Applicant's must provide proof of recent hardship to qualify.

Application process
-Call the Housing Crisis Hotline (757-587-4202) for referral. ALL REFERRALS MUST GO THROUGH THIS PROCESS.
-Housing Crisis will forward 5-10 VNG applicants to our office each Monday (funds permitting).
-Salvation Army staff will call those referred the same week. Applicants are required to respond to our contact attempts within 5 business days or the referral will be cancelled.
