Description

The Virginia Department of Social Services Foster Care Program provides homes and compassionate foster parents for children who are removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect, or other family circumstances that prevent children from remaining in their homes.

The Floyd County Department of Social Services is responsible for determining eligibility for the Food Stamp Program, Medicaid Program, and Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) Program, Cooling and Heating Assistance. This agency also administers programs for Adult Services, Adult Protective Services, Adoption, Child Care, Child Protective Services, Foster Care and other Court-Ordered services, e.g. Custody Investigations and Supervised Visitation.
