The Commissioner of the Revenue is responsible for receiving and processing all Virginia state income tax returns and initial estimated tax payments for City of Lynchburg residents. In addition to receiving forms and payments, our office is trained in the most recent state income tax legislation. We offer free preparation of your Virginia income tax return on a first come first serve basis. You must bring a completed copy of your federal return, your W2s and all supporting documentation.
