A private, non-profit organization that uses lobbying, litigation and public education to promote civil liberties and civil rights in the state. Provides free legal representation for civil liberties cases. The case must represent a significant civil liberties issue and affect a large number of people. Civil liberties they seek to protect are: Freedom of Expression, Religion, Equality Under the Law, Due Process (the right to be treated fairly when facing criminal charges or other serious accusations) and the Right to Privacy.
