Portsmouth Only Must have a 5 day pay or quit notice (5-day late notice), eviction notice, or court notice for the current month. Portsmouth residents only. Applicant must be able to show documentable proof of need. Household income must either fall below 150% of the Federal Poverty Guideline or provide documentation of economic crisis.Households can only apply for rental help with The Salvation Army once every 5 years. Those in Section 8 housing or receiving income based housing rental reductions are not able to apply for these funds at this time. Rental Agency will be required to sign a 30 day residency guarantee as part of our process. If unwilling to stop evicition or sign this document, we will not be able to assist. Applicant Copay- any prior month's rent, late fees, utilities, court fees, or any other fees listed on their notice must be paid before assistance can be completed.
