Eligibility
To be eligible for WIC, you must meet categorical eligibility which includes the following: Infants from birth to age 1 Children up to age 5 Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum Being a Virginia resident, being financially eligible, and being at nutritional risk Automatic Income Eligibility – Certain applicants can be determined income-eligible for WIC based on their participation in certain programs. These included individuals eligible to receive SNAP benefits, Medicaid, for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF, formerly known as AFDC, Aid to Families with Dependent Children).

WIC (Wholesome Informed Choices, formerly Women, Infants and Children) program, is a supplemental nutrition education program that provides nutrition education, private & group sessions with a nutrition expert, breastfeeding/chestfeeding support, referrals to other services (ex. health and dental care), healthy recipes and access to healthy foods.
