Homebound seniors and disabled who can not provide meals for themselves. There is no age requirement.
Deliver Monday through Friday at either noon or evening meal, depending on route. If prospective client can not be fit into existing routes because of location, we will place on waiting list until we develop more routes.

Description

Deliver meals to homebound seniors and the disabled five days a week. Volunteers pick up meals from food suppliers (Lee's Courthouse Deli, Amherst Baptist Church, Amherst or Mountain View Market, Campbell's General Store, Lowesville).

Blue Ledge is an independent meals on wheels program and a member of Meals on Wheels Association of America. Volunteers deliver cooked meals to homebound seniors and disabled individuals five days a week. We focus on potential clients in Amherst County who are not eligible for home delivered meals from the Area Agency on Aging - either because of age, location or other circumstances. We have no age requirement. Our major focus is on rural populations.
