Application process
For expediency, the veteran may apply prior to death to determine eligibility for interment in the cemetery. To download a copy of the pre-application form, please click the link below. You may also request a copy of the pre-application by calling the cemetery at 855-4VA-VETS (855-482-8387). Please remember that in addition to the pre-application form, you must submit documentation of military service (DD214 or equivalent) and a copy of a marriage certificate, if applicable. You must also inform cemetery management of other dependent eligibility status at time of application.
Fees
No cost: Veteran and eligible family members are entitled to one grave/cremation site. The site cannot be reserved. The morning of the burial the burial, the Caretaker Manager selects the next available grave/cremation site, in the order they are used. No cost: Opening and closing of the grave site. No cost: Memorial headstone [granite/marble] per burial garden section or columbarium to be used. No cost: Pre-placed, double-depth concrete crypt or other suitable outer burial receptacle. No cost: All funeral services are conducted at the committal shelter/chapel, no funeral services are scheduled/conducted at the grave sites. No cost: Perpetual grave site care.

The Department of Veterans Services (DVS) is organized into six service delivery sections to include benefits, veterans education, care centers, veterans cemeteries, the Virginia Veteran & Family Support Program and the Virginia War Memorial. Four citizen boards work closely with the agency to support the effective delivery of services to Virginia's veterans, the Board of Veterans Services, the Joint Leadership Council of Veterans Service Organizations, the Veterans Services Foundation, and the Veterans Care Center Advisory Committee.
