Mental Health Support Services - Lynchburg, Madeline Centre, The

Provide help with finding a job, finding housing, getting to medical appointments, setting up a budget and managing finances, parenting skills, medication management, arranging for counseling, helping the chemically dependent get to meetings, learning social skills, linking to legal assistance, nutritional counseling, crises management, and independent living skills. The Madeline Centre Mental Health Support Services are: 1. The program includes a very comprehensive assessment of each individual's needs in 22 areas of their lives. 2. Treatment is based on the medical management model which educates participants how to manage their mental illness. 3. Each participate receives a wellness kit, which includes information about specific mental health diagnoses, booklet of community resources, a "mental health first aid kit" and goal and progress charts. 4. Focus on finding the good in people and to empower them to reach their fullest potential. 5. Emphasize family stabilization by building healthy and healing relationships.
