Eligibility

To receive USDA food, total monthly household income must be at or below 185% of federal poverty level. We give donated food to anyone who does not qualify for USDA food.

Hours

4pm to 7pm on Tuesdays, 2pm to 4pm on Wednesdays, 6:30pm to 8:30pm on Thursdays, and 10am to 12pm on Saturdays

Application process

Clients arrive at site, park, and wait in car for registration person to check them in. When it is their turn to get groceries, each household receives a full grocery cart, customized to their dietary needs.

Loaves & Fishes provides groceries at no cost up to two times each month to under-resourced individuals and families from Charlottesville and all surrounding counties.

Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry
Loaves & Fishes provides free groceries to low-income families in the greater Charlottesville community. Those in need of assistance can come to Loaves & Fishes twice each month to receive USDA and donated food, including fresh fruit, vegetables, milk, eggs, bread and frozen meat. Loaves & Fishes' "free grocery store" helps low-income households stretch their food budgets further as they try to get on their feet financially.
