Provides a government lending arm for housing program and repairs for very low income applicants across VA. For very-low income homeowners 62 years old and older who cannot afford a loan to make necessary repairs, grant funds may be available, depending on eligibility. Grants may be used to remove health or safety hazards, or to remodel dwellings to make them accessible to household members with disabilities. Grants are limited to lifetime assistance of $7,500. Provides a 1% loan for 20 years in an amount up to $20,000.00. This rate is fixed for the life of the loan. The loan is used to repair, improve or modernize a home. You must occupy the home and prove ownership.
