An ecumenical, Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate substandard housing by building homes for low-income families. Affiliates employ a combination of volunteer labor, sweat equity and tax-deductible monetary and material donations to build the homes. Financing is through loans which are deposited into a fund that supports the construction of additional homes. SAW Habitat for Humanity also provides for critical home repairs.

Application process
Application Process: Please contact Operations Administrator, Jill Bader calling (540) 490-4204 to schedule a program orientation. Individuals are given an application to determine initial qualification in the program. (Please see income limits in chart below) AFTER completing the application and submitting with required documentation: Eligible candidates are asked to meet with our Operations Administrator to review their application and documentation. Applications are thoroughly reviewed and undergo credit bureau as well as criminal backgrounds checks. Also, employment and landlord verification is confirmed as well as an in-home visit. Applications are then sent to Family Selection Committee for consideration. Family Selection Committee makes recommendations to the Board of Directors. Board of Directors accepts or rejects the application.
