Assigns some officers to Problem-Oriented Policing (POP) in trouble spots. Works with merchants and property owners to remove opportunities for crime. Works with neighboring partners through prevention, intervention, investigations and enforcement in all facets of criminal justice and emergency management systems.

The Falls Church City Police Department has the responsibility to maintain public safety and order through enforcement of criminal laws and traffic regulations; development and deployment of effective crime prevention education programs that include children, residents, and business owners; proper research and analysis of the service area; and coordination of interagency communications with other organizations in the criminal justice system.
