Applicants living in units with shared common areas must have an individual lease to be considered as an individual household.

A grant of up to $8,000 to make accessibility modifications to a rental unit. Accessibility grants can be used to install ramps, grab bars and other modifications to make your home easier to navigate. This is not a loan, so no repayment is ever needed. Virginia Housing provide mortgages for first-time homebuyers, as well as financing for apartment communities and neighborhood revitalization efforts. Virginia Housing teach free homeownership classes, support housing counseling, and help people with disabilities and the elderly make their homes more livable.
