Survivors Insurance - Alexandria, Social Security Administration

Provides social security survivor benefits to eligible widow and widowers. Eligible individuals include: full benefits to a widow or widower at full retirement age, a disabled widow or widower 50 or over, a widow or widower at any age if he or she takes care of the deceased's child who is under age 16 or disabled, and receiving Social Security benefits. Benefits also apply to other survivors. Eligible individuals include: benefits to children at any age who were disabled before age 22 and remain disabled, dependent parents age 62 or older, some divorcees, and unmarried children under 18 or up to age 19 if they are attending high school full time. Under certain circumstances, benefits can be paid to stepchildren, grandchildren, or adopted children.

Automated toll-free telephone services available 24/7. Telephone representatives are available 7:00am to 7:00pm weekdays. Expect to be contacted within 24 hours. Consumer can self refer.
