Must reside in the service area - Chesterfield County, Dinwiddie County, Petersburg, Hopewell, Colonial Heights, and Prince George County. Must show proof of eligible residency, utility bill in client/household name. Clients must have documented/written wage-based household (1 month of recent paystubs) employment documentation. There is no income min/max threshold.

We do not have the capacity to respond to assistance requests submitted via email. The only way to be considered is through the voicemail process described above. Description

CCHASM’s Utility Assistance Program helps prevent service disconnections for families facing temporary financial hardship. Assistance is provided directly to the utility vendor, and documentation of the emergency and household income may be required.

To provide food pantry appointments ( in person and through delivery), emergency utility financial assistance (as funds permit), and educational resources to area residents who have experienced or are experiencing emergencies. Every Thanksgiving we offer a non perishable meal bag and $20 grocery gift card to those that sign up. Sign up begins around October 1. The pick up is the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
