Application process
Nominees must complete and return a board member application, nomination form, and annual disclosure statement.
Individuals wishing to represent a business should be nominated by a chamber of commerce within the region, a local economic development office or organization, a business organization or association, or by another business. Self-nomination is also allowed.
Nominations must be submitted to the Central Virginia Workforce Development Board administrative office. Staff will review the nomination and make a recommendation to the LWDA VII Council of Chief Local Elected Officials, which officially appoints all voting members to the board.

The WDB collaborates with contracted program operators and workforce system partners to assist employers with applicant screening, writing job descriptions, and training new employees. The WDB also ensures that classes and career services are effectively delivered for Virginia Career Works – Central Region youth and adult residents as well as businesses.
