Description
A rental assistance program governed by 24 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The purpose of the program is to provide housing assistance to low income families in multifamily dwellings, owned and operated by the Newport News Redevelopment and Housing Authority (NNRHA). Under the Public Housing Program eligible applicants are assigned to one of our public housing communities. Families pay the greater of 30 percent of their adjusted income or 10 percent of the gross monthly income as tenant rent. The NNRHA has an established minimum rent of $50.
