Eligibility
For services that are off or in threat of termination. Exceptions apply for Columbia Gas customers who are Senior Citizens. Applicants must have made a sincere effort of payment of at least $50 on their Columbia Gas accounts in the past 3 months. Senior Citizens, age 62 and over, must have paid $25 on their accounts. Applicants must have an outstanding balance of at least $100. Senior Citizens may have a $50 balance as long as there is no existing credit on the account.

Application process
Bring valid government-issued ID, copy of most recent gas bill including account#, proof of all payments made in past 90 days, proof of income for everyone in household, active termination notice, broken agreement letter or proof service has been disconnected.

Financial Assistance program to assist with Columbia gas customers. - Income Guidelines fall at or below 175% FPIG. - Must be a Columbia Gas Customer - Must apply at a designated Dollar Energy intake site. - Account must be for residential service of a single home or apartment - Applicants must live in the geographic area of the agency they visit - Applicants must have exhausted all other energy assistance programs - Funds are intended for a service emergency, such as no gas service due to non-payment or threat of termination - Funds can be used toward security deposits - Only one grant per heating season per household - Maximum grant $500.

Serves as a community impact provider and planner and as a central fund raising and fund distributing source for qualified human service agencies. No dollars are provided directly to individuals. Assistance is delivered through United Way partner agency programs.
