Energy Assistance - Mathews, Mathews County Social Services

The Energy Assistance Program (EAP)consists of three components; Fuel Assistance (FA), Coolng Assistance (CA) and Emergency Crisis Assistance (CAP). The Energy Assistance Program consists of three components: Fuel Assistance assists low-income eligible households by supplementing home energy costs. Applications are accepted the second Tuesday in October through the second Friday in November. Crisis Assistance assists low-income households with energy related emergencies. Applications are accepted November 1st through March 15th. Cooling Assistance assists households in acquiring or repairing cooling equipment and /or payment of electric bills to operate cooling equipment. Financial Aid - Spotsylvania, Wilderness Outreach Ministries (WOM), Wilderness Community Church

Work with people going through eviction and those whose utilities are being turned off. Once an eviction notice/utility shut-off notice has been served, we will work directly with the leasing office/utility company to pledge the last $100 after other payments and pledges are made. We will also assist with the last $100 towards security deposits for people moving into our coverage area. Assistance is provided once every 12 months for those who qualify. Funds are on a first come, first serve basis.

Provides fuel assistance through a program funded by the Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative Energy Assistance program and administered by Page One. Applications are accepted at Page One year round. Bring utility bill for application. Applications are taken until funds are exhausted. Must have disconnect notice. The program helps those in need regardless of the type of heat used and only after all other assistance has been exhausted. Assistance is limited to once every 6 months.

Emergency Assistance- Leesburg, Salvation Army of Loudoun County, The

The Salvation Army of Loudoun can help with utilities – such as Dominion, NOVEC, and gas. We do not currently help with water. During the heating season (January – May), funds from the Washington Area Fuel Fund (WAFF) and Dominion are available to help with any heating source.
