Assistance with emergency needs, provides help to individuals/families to prevent eviction, utility cut-off, hunger, lack of essential clothing, or other life-threatening situations. Clients may be referred to community resources for financial assistance.

Encompass Community Supports helps people find and keep safe, affordable housing. Work with other parts of our agency and community partners to connect people to housing assistance. Some of our programs include lower income options for eligible adults 62 and better, rent subsidies, formally known as Section 8 Vouchers, and short-term rental assistance. Help individuals obtain housing quickly and increase self-sufficiency. The referrals for this option begin at Foothills Housing Network.

Services in Virginia include Technical and financial support of Low and Moderate individuals and immigrants, information and referrals, immigration counseling, housing assistance, translation and interpretation services, job search assistance, and crisis intervention.

Certified HUD Counselors work with individuals in group settings or one-on-one sessions to reach financial goals and increase economic mobility. Sessions include financial literacy, predatory lending, fair housing, and rental topics.

CAPUP offers EFSP funds (when available), which provides rent assistance to residents of Richmond.

Reverse Mortgage Counseling provided virtually.

This program helps those who are elderly, disabled or victims of fire. Based on each individual's need and our Board's guidelines, they may receive assistance with any of the following: material items, food, emergency shelter. Some may qualify for assistance with rent, mortgage, utilities and heating (oil/propane/firewood).

Provides emergency financial assistance to those in need with Electric, Water, Rent, Medical, and Other Needs. A family is only helped once every 6 months. A family is made up of anyone that lives at the same address.

The focus is to help the people and organizations providing services to the community. Outreach Programs include transitional housing, food assistance, and general relief application assistance.

Provides general and specific relief in the way of utilities with cut-off notices for gas, water and electricity; rent and also assists with medication payment.

A website of available affordable rental units throughout Virginia that helps renters find housing based on their specific needs. The service also provides links to rental housing resources and helpful tools for renters such as an affordability calculator, rental checklist, and information about renter rights and responsibilities. Landlords can list their affordable units for free.

Provides assistance with prescriptions, food, utility (Electric), wood and rent.

Provides rent assistance to residents of Richmond City and Henrico County. Rent must be 1-month overdue, late fees and other fees must be paid prior to funds being released. Do not assist with rent deposit nor move in expenses or hotel fees.

GCAP offers emergency assistance to low-income Goochland residents for food, rent/mortgage payments, and utilities. GCAP is also able to support low-income residents with educational expenses for job training, after-school childcare, and summer camp. Goochland Community Action Program (GCAP) is administered through the Goochland Department of Social Services. Applications are accepted via mail, fax, or drop-off in person.

Helps people with disabilities who are homeless or who need to locate affordable, accessible housing.

The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society provides need based financial assistance and other services to active duty or retired US Sailors and Marines, and their eligible family members and survivors.

Our Program serves the following zip codes ONLY located in EASTERN Henrico County: 23150; 23075; AND "PORTIONS" OF 23223 AND 23231. This is a program that renders short-term emergency services. Services provided are emergency food, clothing, and financial assistance for rent/utilities. Clients requesting financial assistance must be able to document extreme financial need. Request for financial assistance is limited to once every 12 months. This also applies for food assistance request. The Clothes closet (ONLY) is available to all residents of Henrico County and clients may use the clothes closet twice per year (seasonally).

Provides housing assistance, in the form of supplemental rent and housing rehabilitation/repair services, to those who qualify as low income. Manages the Section 8 Rental Assistance program in both counties. The FLHF has a part time home buyer counselor on staff to assist first time home buyers. The organization manages the Indoor Plumbing Program and State Emergency Home Repair Program. In addition, the Foundation has funds for grants and loans to repair dwellings.
